Damian Watson is a respected sports broadcaster who began his career with EON Sports Digital Radio in 2016. He has gained experience commentating for the Eastern Football League and has worked for many years at SEN, hosting programs and calling both cricket and AFL games. Additionally, he has worked with Cricket Australia and Football Victoria, providing commentary for their streaming services. Damian is a walking encyclopedia of sports, with an incredible ability to remember sports facts and dates long before his time. He discusses them with authority as if he had experienced them himself. In addition to his broadcasting work, he also practices law full-time.

Alister Ford

My guest today on Dashing Dan's Sporting Adventures played League Footy in the 1980s.
 
That was when recruiting was vastly different.
 
After being recruited from Gippsland, Alister Ford played his first game as a 17-year-old.
 
It was the days when you as the player and your family may not have known a club was after you or you were in their zone.

Jimmy Whelan

My guest today on Dashing Dan Sporting Adventures Podcast is an elite sports person in a number of sports.
 
He was an outstanding junior middle-distance runner at school, winning the 800 and 1500 metres at the Prestigious APS Sports at Xavier College in Melbourne.
 
Injuries then curtailed his running career and to help heal he hopped on a bike and then concentrated on road cycling and became a professional road cyclist and was selected in international teams in Europe and actually raced in the Giro D'italia.
 
However, after numerous falls, he has elected to retire from Road cycling and concentrate on a career as a triathlete.

Legendary Race Caller Greg Miles

Our guest on Dashing Dan's Sporting Adventures is one of the greatest race callers this country has produced.
 
Greg Miles called 36 Melbourne Cups and numerous other major races after starting as a 22-year-old with the ABC in 1981, replacing long-time legend Joe Brown.

He is also a senior AFL Commentator with Fox Footy and SEN and has covered and commented on only seven Summer and Winter Olympic events, including the rowing for Channel Nine TV this year and the Aths for Channel Nine radio.
 
He is also one of the nicest guys in the sports media industry and it was a pleasure to have a long chat (and I mean a long chat) over two parts for Dashing Dan's Sporting  Adventures.

Amanda Shalala is an esteemed sports broadcaster, journalist, and producer for ABC TV Sport.

Paris Olympics 2024 Athletics debrief with Gerard Whateley

Before the Olympics, I caught up with broadcasting great, Gerard Whateley, who had the wonderful job of calling the athletics for Channel Nine,

Australian Diver Annabelle Smith

Today’s guest on Dashing Dan’s Olympic Adventures is a current Olympian who has represented Australia at these Olympics in Paris.
She is at her 4th Olympics and is a diver who in Paris finished fifth in the 3-metre synchro swimming with Maddison Keeney, who at the time of recording was in the final of the individual synchro.
Annabelle won bronze in 2016 and was fifth in Tokyo and has also won a gold and 2 silvers at the Commonwealth Games.
It’s great to have Annabelle Smith speaking to us from the Olympic Village for Aussie Home Loans.

Gold Medalist Brett Aiken

One of our first podcasts was with Olympic Gold medalist in Cycling in the Madison in Sydney, Scott McGrory. His partner in that event, Brett Aitken was at his third Games, having won medals in the previous two in the 4000-metre team pursuit.
